50 Cent's Long Island home which has been at the center of a dispute between the rapper and the mother of his son was destroyed by a suspicious fire early Friday morning (May 30).
According to New York Newsday, the fire was reported to authorities around 5 am and six people who were inside the house were rushed to a nearby hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Among the six people rescued included 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and their 10-year-old son, Marquise.
It reportedly took 45 minutes for the fire to be extinguished and one of the firefighters called the fire suspicious.
"I would say there is a strong -- a strong, strong -- possibility that it is suspicious," said Dix Hills Fire Department Chief Larry Feld. "The rapid movement of the fire. The volume of the fire . . . It was engulfed. The home was totally gutted."
"The fire was huge, I mean huge,” said next-door neighbor Debra Lotz. "I watched the whole fire from our pool . . . It burned down to the ground."
Police and fire officials are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
As reported earlier, 50 and Tompkins were embroiled in a bitter legal battle over child support payments last year.

NG>50 was initially ordered to pay $25,000 a month in child support to Tompkins but a judge would cut it down to $6,700 this year on condition that Tompkins used the money to find a new residence.
In March, 50 would request a judge to have Tompkins evicted from the house because she had not attempted to find a new residence and was taking advantage of the fact he paid all the bills for the home.
50 also claimed that Tompkins lived in the house with her boyfriend and various other people who did not contribute to the house's upkeep.
The judge would side with 50 and gave Tompkins until the end of the school year to move.
In retaliation, Tompkins filed a breach of contract lawsuit against the G-Unit honcho claiming that the rapper promised to buy her the house.
Tompkins lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, refused to comment on the fire and 50’s attorney could not be reached.
