Barley two days after being arrested for speeding and reckless driving, DMX was reportedly arrested on animal cruelty and drug charges in Arizona early Friday morning (May 9) following a seven month investigation.

As reported earlier, DMX's house was raided last August after authorities were tipped that dogs were being abused on his property.  DMX wasn't at the house during the raid and was not formally charged.

According to The Associated Press, Arizona authorities raided DMX's house at around 3 a.m. Friday and he was arrested on seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and four counts of felony drug possession.

Authorities claim that DMX tried to barricade himself in his bedroom but eventually came out without further incident.

Five pit bull mix puppies, weapons and drugs were found during the raid.

Authorities also revealed that they also delivered a search warrant Friday at a local clinic which they believe is involved in a possible fraud scheme with DMX.  No further information was given.

DMX made a court appearance Friday and his bail was set at $7,500.
