Kanye West's longtime girlfriend, Alexis Phifer, yesterday (April 21) confirmed rumors of her split with the rapper/producer.

Word of the couple breaking up began circulating during the weekend.  Phifer, a designer and founder of her own clothing line Ghita, made the revelation to People Magazine Monday.

“It's always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer told People. “I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors.  He's one of the most talented people I've ever met.”

Phifer and West have been dating since 2002 and got engaged on the island of Capri in August 2006.

In related news, Kanye is currently on his 'Glow In The Dark' tour with N.E.R.D, Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna.  The trek will wrap up in Tennessee on June 12th.
