The verbal sparring between 50 Cent and Fat Joe continued Wednesday (March 19) as the G-Unit honcho released a video on his website poking fun at the lackluster chart debut of Joe's latest album, Elephant In The Room.
50 and Joe have been engaged in a well documented feud which began after the G-Unit honcho attacked Fat Joe for aligning with his rival Ja Rule.
The bad blood between the two would go an extra notch last month when 50 took over New York radio station Power 105.1 and spent a good chunk of his air time attacking Joe's credibility as an artist.
A few days later, Fat Joe and New York mixtape rapper Papoose would get into an altercation in North Carolina. Papoose was in the studio with 50 Cent during his air time on Power 105.1 and Joe confronted Pap about his affiliation with the G-Unit boss.
Doctored photos showing Fat Joe bandaged and scarred insinuating that he was beaten up by Papoose would surface on the net a day after their altercation. Joe would accuse 50 and his websi
te, Thisis50.com, for releasing the fake photos.
50 would respond to the accusations saying he was releasing a free downloadable mixtape via his site titled Elephant In The Sand on the same day (March 11) that Joe would be releasing his album Elephant In The Room.
Early Wednesday, a post on Thisis50.com promoted that 50 would be a holding a funeral for Fat Joe at 11pm. The poster for the supposed funeral depicted Fat Joe as a chubby woman on the beach being grieved by Ja Rule and Terror Squad'sDJ Khaled.
The funeral would turn out be a 4 minute clip showing scenes from a funeral with 50 crying for Fat Joe in the background. 50's crocodile tears only last for a minute and the G-Unit honcho begins to gloat about the success of his mixtape over Joe's album.
“The results are in. Elephant In The Sand wins by a landslide, 400,000 copies downloaded from Thisis50.com. Go check yourself and see, it’s a fact,” said 50 Cent.“Elephant In The Room actually scanned 46,000 copies which is actually terrible. That's when you know you are not relevant, when you got a new artist like Rick Ross coming in there as the No. 1 album.” [Check out the Top 10 Rap Chart for this week]
50 then goes on to advice Ross to stay away from Fat Joe. Ross and Joe have appeared on each other’s projects and videos. Both rappers also have an affiliation with DJ Khaled.
“[Ross is] from the same lil’ pocket out there in Miami but he shouldn't stand next to that fat piece of shit cause you know how I get...” said 50 while throwing playful jabs at the camera.
“I think this is really bad for [Joe],” 50 continued. “I think its basically saying right now that he wont ever create material that makes him relevant. Every album the nigga put out, he puts us one song that’s ehhh and the rest is trash. It ain’t even worth buying the CD.”
“For me this is fun, I’m sparring,” 50 added. “ I do 700,000 on a dud. So you know, catch me on the next one. Cause I serve 'em everytime.”
