Rapper Pras Michel of The Fugeees  will be producing and starring in a trilogy of movies based on the comic series Dark Oz.

According to Daily Variety, Dark Oz follows an older Dorothy Gale in a “gothic and more macabre” setting as she journeys through Oz  and encounters the same characters as she did via Frank L. Baum's Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Pras plans to play the role of the Scarecrow. 

Production on Dark OZ will begin at the end of 2008. 

In related new, Pras will appear  alongside John Malkovich, Devon Aoki and Thomas Jane in the sci-fi flick The Mutant Chronicles.

The movie centers on a 23rd century soldier (played by Jane) who leads a fight against an army of underworld NecroMutants.

The Mutant Chronicles will hit theatres later this year.
