Outkast's Andre 3000 will be reprising his role in the final season of FX's cop drama The Shield this summer.

The rapper initially made his appearance on the show in 2004 playing a comic book store owner trying to rid his community of drug dealers and prostitutes.

André tells Blackfilm.com that in the upcoming season of the show, his character decides to run for office.

“My character evolved over the years,” Andre explained.  “[He] is coming back and he’s actually running for mayor.”

As reported earlier, Andre will be starring alongside Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson in the basketball comedy, Semi Pro, which opens in theatres on February 29.

He also plans to release a solo album and launch his clothing line, Benjamin Bixby, this fall.
