Chicago rapper Common recently confirmed that he will play Green Lantern in the big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Justice League.
Rumors of the rapper's role in the flick surfaced late last year but were never affirmed.
Common confirmed his role and spoke about his involvement in the flick for the first time to MTV News Friday (February 9).
"It’s a blessing really. Justice League itself is an honor, and Green Lantern is an incredible character to play. It’s a blessing to be associated with it," Common said. "Just being a black person, a black man, playing a superhero is an honor in itself."
Common also revealed he is working on his eighth solo album titled The Believer,which he plans to have out by November this year.

There IS a BLACK GREEN LANTERN, fool. His name is John Stewart. Also, this news is MAD LATE. The movie was put on the shelf/backburner indefinitely like, over a month ago.
