Sixshot.com: What’s going on?
Juelz: I am just chillin` man, just been workin,` workin` just preppin ` getting` ready for what’s about to go on, we got a lot of stuff about to go on.
Sixshot: Ok, let’s talk a little bit about your album.
Juelz: Yeah, which one? “The Diplomat Album” The Diplomat Album will be out November 23rd.
Sixshot: How many tracks are on the album? Who produced it?
Juelz: I think it’s, I think it’s a little over; I think it’s about twenty tracks on there as a matter of fact. We got Chu and the Heat Lickers we got my man “Develop”, on there new hot, hot, hot producer we got my man Skitzo on there. We got all you know a lot of dudes, meet underground dudes we mess with. You know what I mean. I feel like the up and coming dudes are real hungry just like we are. You know what I mean. Their putting it all into these beats. Know what I am sayin`
Sixshot: So, What is your favorite song on the album?
Juelz: I pretty much don’t have no favorite song. I think the whole album is crazy, you know what I mean?
Sixshot: Ok.
Juelz: We got the lovely lady Zsa Zsa. With us we got a girl with us. And she got a hot, hot song called, “Gifts around me”.
Sixshot: That was my next question, how many Diplomats are there?
Juelz: The Diplomats are Me, Camron, we got Jim Jones, we got Freeky Zeekey of course, and he’s currently incarcerated. We got Hellz bellz, we go
t J.R. Rider, Phooty Tal. And we got Zsa Zsa.
Sixshot: Alright, So there’s about eight?
Juelz: Yeah.
Sixshot: So on all of your songs, the twenty songs you are talking about, everybody is on there?
Juelz: No, No, No. Nobodies on every song. It’s no song with all of us on there. You know what I mean. We try to mix and match it. Put it together but that’s the only thing I can say is different from the first Diplomat Album, just the new cast we brought along with us. You know what I mean. We gave everybody a chance to meet and bring it to the table. You know what I mean. With all the new talent we have around us. You know what I am sayin`, so that’s the only difference from the last album.
Sixshot: There is a question I am also asking and it’s more like for you personally, what song do you think that you perform in that has the most meaning to you lyrically, and why?
Juelz: I mean, The Santana Song is the first, will be the first single you know what I mean. To let everybody know I am back. I am focused. You know what I mean. The album will be out August. I’m back, you already know. It’s pretty much just letting people know, I’m talking Spanish, saying Santana’s back you know what I mean. I’m just spitting real hard. I mean I am letting everybody know what’s going on. Been low for a minute you know what I mean.
Sixshot: Yeah.
Juelz: Get use to this I’ve got over a hundred songs done. I am about to pop songs like I pop tags.
Sixshot: Right.
Juelz: You know what I am saying, that’s what’s going on this time around. So, and it’s all crack, human crack in the flesh. That’s all I am bringing to the table. I am over focused right now. I am so focused right no I am scaring myself.
Sixshot: Are you focusing on a Solo Album too?
Juelz: That’s what I am trying to tell you, my solo album will be out in April.
Sixshot: Oh, nice, okay, Cool..
Juelz: April, you know what I mean. So that’s done already. I am telling you it’s super crazy. I have been on my “A” Game like you know what I mean.
Sixshot: Nice
Juelz: It’s going to be real crazy; I am just going to make sure everything is right this time around. Like my promotion, my marketing everything is extra on point; I feel like the music it too good to get overlooked this time around. It’s too crazy like. I stepped it up twelve more notches.
Sixshot: Alright Cool. Definitely I wait.
Juelz: Do you know when the Matrix twelve is coming up?
Sixshot: No, I am not sure.
Juelz: That’s what I am sayin` my album is going to be the preview of The Matrix Twelve. Sixshot: Okay, cool.
Juelz: You know what I am sayin`, you could just imagine and they only did part three. You see how crazy they got. So my album is the preview of The Matrix Twelve you know what I am sayin`.
Sixshot: Cool, Cool, Yeah, I can’t wait, in April you said. I have one question that has been making me wonder. Haven’t you guys been on Roca-Fella before, and now you have switched to Koch Records, and I was also wondering what happened? And don’t you have a clothing line too which is kind of affiliated with RocaWear?
Juelz: We got our own clothing line that’s pretty much coming up. But it’s not with RocaWear or nobody like that. The clothing line we are doing is not even really an official clothing line. As far as the label, Cam` Ron still on Roca-Fella, I am still on Roca-Fella as a solo artist. Diplomat’s are on Koch Records and Jim Jones is on Koch Records.
Sixshot: Okay,
Juelz: We pretty much decided to put The Diplomats album out on Koch along with Jim Dawg. Because it was like, it’s like we as the Diplomats got our own movement like. And we pretty much do what we are going to do regardless. So it’s like if the major label couldn’t take us to super artist we might as well do the same thing we gonna` do on an independent label and get paid for it.
Sixshot: Yeah right definitely.
Juelz: We as the Diplomats carry our own movement, right. No matter where we go.
Sixshot: Right.
Juelz: You see what I am sayin` if we just put out an album, on the nothing we just gonna` be as the Diplomats we gonna` do what we gonna do. See what I am sayin`? A major label, you got to show us your gonna` take us Three…
Sixshot: Yeah, I definitely understand.
Juelz: An Extra, Extra Label or else we don’t even need to be here, you know what I am sayin`?
Sixshot: Right and you got yourself a name already and People who are your fans it really doesn’t matter to them.
Juelz: Yeah.
Sixshot: Still, I went to the Magic Show in Vegas. It’s like the industry Fashion Show and there was like the Diplomats had this huge area with Roca-Fella basically right next to the RocaWear.
Juelz: We have, my mother has it up there, like I said we have a little clothing line coming up. But it’s not actually with RocaWear. It’s not solidified on paper or nothing like that.
Sixshot: Okay. Alright that’s cool.
Juelz: Of course we are promoting it with RocaWear, because their clothing is real strong right now. So of course we would be promoting our clothing line with them. We don’t have like no stint like with RocaWear, like a Diplomat/RocaWear clothing like that..
Sixshot: How about the movies? You have been staring in State Property 2 right?
Juelz: Nah, I am not staring. I got a small little piece in State Property 2. I am not staring in it but, we are shooting our own Diplomat movie.
Sixshot: Okay.
Juelz: Yeah, we should be putting that out on Koch too. “The Diplomat Movie.”
Sixshot: The same producer and directors or completely different?
Juelz: Nah, we got my man Ole Lou Lache` directing the movie.
Sixshot: Okay.
Juelz: Not directed, we pretty much we directing it, like as far as writing it and were we want to go because it’s a real story. It’s just basically about our lives and our commitment; with what we do. You know what I mean. We got my man ole Lou. Like he’s the as far as the guy with the camera man and stuff and you know Jim does a lot of the video stuff too. And he’s good with the camera and he knows what’s going on. So.
Sixshot: Do you have fun doing movies? Or you do it because there is more money in it? or do you really just like it?
Juelz: To be honest with you, like I said State property was the only movie I was in, and I didn’t get paid for that. That was my kind of movie, so it’s not really about the money. I definitely enjoy doing the movie shit. You got to be on the scene for a long time.
I mean what cha gonna` call it. You definitely got to be on the scene. It’s a lot of work but, I am all about work right now. I am all about bettering my career, so what ever I got to chase and I got to work hard I will work hard right now. Because I am like fuck it. I got a little boy right now that’s bigger than me. Bigger than Nino Brown.
Sixshot: What do you think of the state of Hip-Hop right now?
Juelz: The state of Hip-Hop, it’s bigger than ever. Like people are still selling records; like the state of hip hop is great right now. I mean I feel like it’s not a lot of good music out, but I mean people are still selling records you know? And people are still not selling records. It’s still going on. I like the way it’s going down right now I like the way hip hop is fretting. You see the south side of Compton, you know what I mean. I like the way it’s moving around it’s getting every body time to spread. You know what I mean. Right now the way it’s looking like Snoop got his joint out, the South is popin`, “Ja” got the whole New York song on his team. And like everybody it’s bout to just be a world wide hip hop thing it will be big, big you know what I mean? Like international, you see how it was individual and one side was would be top. The East Coast and then it would be the West Coast and then it would be the South. I feel like it’s getting to a time now where it’s about to be just everybody just doing their thing, every body is just going to come together, and just make real good music, that’s what it’s time for. This whole voting situation is bringing a lot of these artist together. You know what I am sayin` as far as to what is going on in the wing, like a lot of these panels that are going on. We got artist that have never been in the same room on the same panel and now they clickin` so you know I see a lot of big things in the future for this whole hip hop thing. Especially for me, because I am back like crack baby.
Sixshot: (Chuckles) Nice….I have another question. Do you think money in hip hop as far as the music goes, do you think that the money is lowering the music’s creativity? Because they have to make those songs which are appealing to everybody now?
Juelz: Yes, and I think some of those songs are corny.
Sixshot: Right.
Juelz: You are right, you are absolutely right; I definitely feel that, that is the feeling. But you know sooner or later everybody going to realize, that YO! You know what I mean?
Sixshot: Right.
Juelz: You got to do what you got to do. We go to continue doing what we gotta` do. Like. If you were to make the same kind of music we make, we are going to wait until it takes it, we just gonna` get there. You know what I mean? We are just destined for it, we don’t need to just go out and do a bunch of pop songs. You know what I mean?
Sixshot: Do you personally use the internet? I have hip hop online magazine so I have to ask you these questions.
Juelz: Yeah, I use the internet a little bit, not much. Emails and stuff like that.
Sixshot: What do you think about the current situation and will you go vote?
Juelz: Yeah I am definitely with the whole voting situation right. I feel that it’s just the world is in a state of emergency right now. I am saying with what’s going on I mean we all need to be aware and we all need to know that we need to all go out and vote and that our voices do count as whole or one. Because as one we make a whole. You know what I mean? Like as one when we are all together we make a group. So, I do think that I defiantly would like the whole voting situation and like people going out and speaking out. I mean because the voice is everything. I mean we got powered up to write these raps. Speak out that way and tell them how we feel.
Sixshot: Yeah, I saw this show on MTV and Kerry made a comment about how hip hop, and how important it is to listen to it. Which I thought was kind of funny you know.
Juelz: He wants them hip-hop votes
Sixshot: Really yeah, that’s what I figured.
Juelz: Shit
Sixshot: I mean Bush I heard is not even going to got there. So well he definitely doesn’t have them. (Chuckles) Well, okay, are you going on any tours and shows?
Juelz: Yeah, We about to go on Diplomat promotional tour starting like November 1st. to like the 23rd. We gonna` go out there, yeah we just about to start prepping for everything like I said Cam’s Album is going to come out right after that and then my album is coming right after that. So, you should see a lot of the Dip Set, Fuck you gonna` see a lot of the Dip Set. You are going to see a lot of the Dip Set. Cam`, Juelz Santana, everybody as an individual everybody as a whole, everybody as who we be coming as……
Sixshot: I can’t wait, basically we are done, I was wondering if you give a shout out to Sixshot.com?
