Sixshot.com: What have you been up to?
Prodigy: Mainly we have been working on the new album. The album is coming out soon. we have been on tour too.
Havoc: Also, we worked on the movie “Mobb Music”. It’s about Mobb Deep, Queens Bridge, Big Noid the whole click, everybody will be in it. It will be a real movie not like a music video movie.
Sixshot.com: What was the reason that you changed from Loud Records to Priority and what company do you prefer?
Prodigy: We liked Loud Records, but we outgrew Loud and now we are about to start our own record company “Infamous Records”. Our new album is going to be the first release of our new record label. That's going to set it off.
Sixshot.com: Le me know about your new album?
Prodigy: The new album will come out August 10th and it’s called “Americaz Nightmare”, it’s gangsta. Havoc produced 99% of the album. Our first single is called “Got it Twisted”, you probably seen the video, we just launched our second single “Real Gangstaz” featuring Lil’ John we just finished s
hooting the video.
Sixshot.com: What is your favorite track on the album?
Prodigy: That a hard one. I would say “On The Run” has the most meaning to me lyrically. It’s about people on the run and other people forcing you to do foul shit.
Sixshot.com: Are there any other features on the album?
Prodigy: Lil’ John, Nate Dogg did a chorus and Jadakiss dropped a verse.
Sixshot.com: Who would you choose to work with right now, what’s your favorite MC?
Prodigy: That will be a whole lot of people… man…Just check the Billboard, whoever is on top…I’ll do a track with.
Sixshot.com: What do you think of the State of Hop-Hop today?
Prodigy: Ohh, it’s gangsta, Niggas like Mobb Deep got 50/50 joint ventures.
Sixshot.com: What do you think is the biggest change that you have experienced in your career?
Prodigy: I would say that the biggest change is that we own our own business now. We are a lot more independent minded about everything.
Sixshot.com: Do you think that the original hip-hop culture vanished, because of the huge amount of money which is in the business today? Hip-Hop used to be about a message and about music not like today where it seams to be about Money, Companies and Money again?
Prodigy: We will always make good music but somehow, if you want to survive in this, you got to evolve too.
Sixshot.com: What do you think about Irak and brothers dying over there every day?
Prodigy: Niggas is dying right here. I say fuck Irak, we got murder right here in NY.
Sixshot.com: Are you interested in politics and what’s going on around the United States?
Prodigy: I mean, you know, everybody got their own believes, some people care about politics, some people don’t. As far as the world is concerned, everybody got mixed emotions, you know how I mean. But Mobb Deep is still going to sell a Million records, you hear me?
Sixshot.com: What do you think of the internet and how the internet has impacted Hip-Hop?
Prodigy: The internet gives us a chance to reach out to every body at one time.
Sixshot.com: Do you think the internet makes it easier or harder for new artist to come up?
Prodigy: I think it makes it easier; there is really no excuse anymore.
Sixshot.com: Do you use the internet yourself?
Prodigy: We use email, we use the internet pretty often…we don’t have that much time, we mostly focused on our music but when we are on, we’ll be checkin’ Sixshot.com.
