Sixshot had a chance to chat with Lord Jamar about the album and other projects.
Sixshot.com: What up Lord Jamar, how has live treated you?
Lord Jamar: What up? Live goes well.
Sixshot.com: What have you been doing for the past years, it has been over 4 years since your last release?
Lord Jamar: We have been doing music, all the time. Just some of the music we did, did not come out, that's why it seams like whe have been gone for a while. I was working as an actor in a couple of TV Series like "Oz" and "Law & Order". I also worked with Dead Prez. We have been havig some troubles finding the right record label, that took some time.
Sixshot.com: What did bring you guys back together?
Lord Jamar: We where always together, we see each other regularly. Not every we
ek, we got family you know, but regularly.
Sixshot.com: What do you think is the biggest change in the rap game since you started in 1990?
Lord Jamar: A lot of stuff has changed, there is definitely a lot more money in the industry that there was when we got in to it.
Sixshot.com: Let me know about your upcoming album “Fire in the Hole”?
Lord Jamar: The album will come out on August 10th, and it will be Me, Sadat X and Grand Pupa. The album is produced by me and DJ Alamo.
Sixshot.com: Are you going on Tour?
Lord Jamar: Yes, we will tour the US when the album comes out.
Sixshot.com: How do you think the internet has influenced hip-hop?
Lord Jamar: I think the internet made hip-hop more global. We get to hear and live hip-hop every day, unlike other people living in different countries of the world. I think they probably download more tracks and stuff, because they can’t just turn on the radio and hear their favorite rappers like us. It defenitely gives everyone access to the music.
Sixshot.com: Do you personally use the internet?
Lord Jamar: Mostly for email and stuff like that, I don’t have much time to surf the net.
Sixshot.com: Thanks for the interview.
Lord Jamar: Peace.
