Jadakiss - The Voice of the Game printer friendly version Send this story to a friend!

The recognizable raspy and street-malicious sound belongs to KISS.  The gangster movie of hood life is what the J-A-D-A of the original L-O-X slash D-BLOCK brings to the game while fans sit, listen and watch.  Governed by gritty-ness, the leader of lyrical Scarface’s claim to fame is from his ability to shoot up and corrupt tracks that are secure without fear or regret.  Put your hands up….

Jada before D-Block was a fragment of the LOX aiming to pop on a solo scale.  Jada before beef with certain cats from the The ROC was a Yonkers street celeb gunning exclusive tracks on mixtapes for just about any DJ that smashed including Kay Slay and Whoo Kid.

Addressing new fans, Kiss been on the block way before he jumped on the Spanish diva Jenny’s single.  To seasoned supporters, who can’t recall the way he used to lace Clue exclusives? Remember features with Mona Lisa and Mary J. Blige, as-well-as cuts with Casino, McGruff, and the late-great Notorious B.I.G?  If you can’t recall those tracks, rewind back to the late ni neties-early 2G's and do your homework.

It's not rare for Sixshot.com to cop an exclusive interview...so is it a surprise that Jadakiss in the flesh politicked with us about his new album the Kiss of Death...It's the BLOCK....

Sixshot.com:

What’s popping Jada?  You’ve been in the game well over 10 years, from Clue to Whoo Kid.  Speaking of the present, why do fans consider you one of the illest rappers to hit the game?

Jadakiss:

(Confidence) Because I say that shit baby!  But not only that, I got a unique voice, a distinctive raspy voice and I ride beats pretty good, plus I got nice wordplay.

Sixshot.com:

Now there has been sometime between your first solo album…How different is Kiss of Death from Kiss the Game Goodbye?

Jadakiss:

The topics and the content of the album, The Kiss of Death is more mature, even though it is party and radio friendly.  It is more grown up.

Sixshot.com:

What mistakes did you make on Kiss the Game Goodbye that you didn’t make on this new album?

Jadakiss:

I did it all in Yonkers.  I did the whole album in Y.O.

Sixshot.com:

Did it change the feeling?

Jadakiss:

Yeah, I got my staff right, my management, my legal attorney’s, and my business advisors right.  Everything is in order now.  It was just a gut feeling.  Nothing (with Kiss of Death) was rushed.

Sixshot.com:

Regarding your overall style on Kiss of Death, how different is it than the songs you had on Clue’s mixtapes?  How different is your style than classic cuts such as Well, Well, Well on his Show Me the Money Part II?  I asked Sheek this question before.  How different is your rhyme style now?

Jadakiss:

Actually it is more of that style.  I took it back to the young days.  I’m taking my fans on a ride from Kiss the Game Goodbye to the Kiss of Death.

Sixshot.com:

Is it challenging to go from gritty-street to mainstream?

Jadakiss:

No, I’m gritty.  I’m always gritty.  It’s just more mature now.  I’m giving you the same elements.  It’s just more in depth.  It’s about progressing, not regressing.

Sixshot.com:

What’s your favorite song on The Kiss of Death?

Jadakiss:

By Your Side!

Sixshot.com:

What producers and artists are featured on this album?

Jadakiss:

Kanye West, producer and feature!  Eminem, producer and feature!

Sixshot.com:

Any south cuts, because I know you ride the south real well on singles?

Jadakiss:

Yeah, T.I and Stat Quo are on the remix of Kiss of Death.  Exclusive!

Sixshot.com:

Are you concerned about where you will place on the charts?

Jadakiss:

Naw, I don’t care about none of that.

Sixshot.com:

I asked Sheek (in my last interview with him), what was his favorite song that ya’ll ever put together.  He said “L-O-X, chest-to-chest”…which one was yours?

Jadakiss:

One that we did with Stretch Armstrong…”Ask your friends L-O-X is the illest.”  That shit was crazy.

Sixshot.com:

What do you want people to know about the Kiss of Death that I didn’t ask you?  Why should fans cop this album?

Jadakiss:

The album is crazy.  The production is tight.  You already know what I’m going to bring to the table.  It is self-explanatory with a little bit of surprise.
