SAMPLING AT GOIN NOWHERE!!!
Sampling isn't going anywhere! It’s the foundation of REAL Hip Hop!!!
Sample Clearances are over-exaggerated. The Willie Hutch sample in “Stay Fly” was cleared for 4k. The Crystal Waters sample in "Why You Wanna" was cleared for only 9. Which is nothing, when you think of how much money they (36 Mafia, and T.I.) generated off platinum album sales?
Artists could care less whether you sample or not.
As a producer, you don't need to worry, because you still get paid 3 ways -
advance * writer/composer/producer points, and publishing.
Yes, when you sample you typically lose 25-50% of the publishing, but does it really matter since only 5% of the tracks you make will be ever played on radio, or TV?
The only time samples end up costing 6 figure amounts, and you lose all of the publishing is when you...
•Don't clear the sample at all – (I.E.) Dr. Dre and George Lucas
•The song hits radio before it's cleared – (I.E.) Fabolous/Just Blaze and SuperTramp
•You sample exclusive/unreleased material – (I.E.) Erick Sermon and Marvin Gaye
So do u and KEEP GRINDIN’!!!
Holla at ya boy…

Look at real hip-hop music, like Rahzel and people who can beat box they keep it alive, man. The only people who got fucked by this are people that take down hip-hop anyway -- Neptunes, Kanye West, Vanilla Ice haha. Hip-hop is all about makin something from nothing, about makin your own, not about seeing what you can get away with; people need ta realize it's all about the music.

If you want sum chords off a guitar or piano or violin or whateva.. the producer can get it played live for them. maybe this new law will get them to work harder for their money. WWW.QN5.COM a lot of the beats done by the producers on QN5, like tone, kno, elite.. etc. are from music performed live for them. Put The Work In
