A posting on Daily Variety's ‘Cut Scene’ blog claims that a movie based on the popular video game Grand Theft Auto was close to happening and rapper Eminem had been considered as the star of the flick.
The site reports that six major movie studios had their eyes on the project but Rockstar, which owns the rights to GTA, backed out during negotiations.
MOVING ON
Devin The Dude announced yesterday (February 4) that he has severed ties with his longtime recording home, Rap A Lot Records.
Devin, who has had ties to the label for 15 years, revealed the split with Rap-A-Lot was amicable.
“Rap-A-Lot has been my family for a long time and there's no bad blood at all,” Devin said via a statement. “ Change is a part of life and I feel like this is the time to make a change and focus more on the business side of my career. I've had a nice run so I'd like to develop artists and give some of these other cats out here a platform to shine.”
