C- Murder's trial which was slated to take place next month, was pushed back to June by a Louisiana judge yesterday (January 29) after issues concerning witnesses arose.
C- Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, has been awaiting retrial on a second-degree murder charge in the 2002 killing of sixteen year old Steve Thomas, who was shot in the chest during a brawl in the defunct Platinum Club in Louisiana.
The rapper has been under house arrest since he was released on bond in March 2006, after the Louisiana Supreme Court overturned his murder conviction and accepted his request for a new trial.
According to The Times Picayunne, the prosecutors and C-Murder's attorney , Ron Rakosky, jointly asked Judge Martha Sassone on Tuesday to push the trial’s date to June 9th after Rakosky found names on the prosecutors’ witness list that he didn’t know would be providing testimony.
Due to a gag order given by Sassone, attorneys on both sides could not comment speak on Rakosky’s findings.
