Rapping over a Timbaland beat is like running through a field of landmines. Its an explosive situation, and only the most talented, intelligent, agile, and skillful MC's will make it out alive. Ms. Jade proves she very much belongs in this group. Her new single “Feel the Girl” from her soon to be released album “Girl, Interrupted” is hot. Jade spits rapid-fire lyrics in a mellowed-out style over Tim's frentic beat to near-perfection. While she gives a fairly relaxed delivery on “Feel the Girl” you can feel that she's barely containing a much more aggressive hardcore style that's she's waiting to unleash. Because she is from Philly and has that distinct Philly accent, she's going to get the inevitable comparisons to Eve. But Ms. Jade is her own woman and has her own distinct style. Undoubtedly, “Girl, Interrupted” is going to set off a debate on who is truly Philly's–and hip-hop's-finest female MC. Regardless of who wins that debate, Jade has undeniable talent, and “Feel the Girl” is a strong introduction of one of the hottest new hip-hop artists on the rise.
