In a posting in her blog, radio personality Miss Info claims that Jim Jones revealed to her that he has signed a multi-million deal with Sony Records.
Legendary beat-maker and Def Jam founder Rick Rubin, who produced Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” took an executive position at Sony in May and hired Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua to run the label urban department. Joshua worked as an A&R at Rocafella Records.
“I just left the lawyer’s office. I signed a multimillion dollar joint venture with Sony,” Jimmy told Miss Info. “My boss is Rick Rubin and Hip Hop (Kyambo Joshua) is doing my albums with me. What you think Jay-Z is gonna think about that?”
“What’s crazy is that they gave me the same deal that Un (Cam’ron’s former mentor) and them fucked up back in the day when they got the Sony/Untertainment deal….I got that joint venture, that 50/50 split, they don’t give those out anymore,” Jim continued. “That’s a Dame Dash, Ruff Ryders deal. And I’m bout to go crazy with it. I’m gonna be a problem.”
Jones told Miss Info he plans to bring his own ar
tists to Sony and he has already begun working on a new album which is slated for release in early 2008.
The rapper’s relationship status with Dipset boss Cam’ron still remains a mystery. Jim revealed to Miss Info earlier this year that him and Cam aren’t on speaking terms.
Last month , Jim and Juelz Santanashared a stage with 50 Cent . 50 and Cam'ron engaged in a lyrical fued in March.
