Remy Ma came to court wearing white patent-leather platform shoes that made her so tall it looked like she could step right over her mountain of legal troubles yesterday, including charges of attempted murder, assault and weapons possession.

The rapper, whose real name is Remy Smith, went to Manhattan Criminal Court to learn if she had been indicted.

Instead, she discovered that so far, no grand jury has heard her case and she can remain free on $250,000 bail until her next court date, Nov. 29.

Smith is accused of shooting a friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, outside a club in the Meatpacking District on July 14.

Smith's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, said "no view of the events that has surfaced publicly is accurate," but he declined to say how Barnes-Joseph, 23, was shot.

Police accused Smith of blasting her friend in the gut twice after fighting inside the victim's car over $3,000.

"I suspect that the district attorney's getting conflicting views of the events from various witnesses" and doesn't want to go before a grand jury until he's sure of what happened, Fisher said.

Assistant Manhattan District Attorney Michael McIntosh did not disclose why the investigation is proceeding slowly but said his office would agree to let Fisher's reps examine and photograph the victim's car before returning it next week.

The victim's lawyer, Lauren Raysor, said her client, whose parents were in court, was disappointed there was no grand jury action. She said Barnes-Joseph is home recuperating but still in pain and unable to work.
