Tupac Shakur’s mother has launched a bid to prevent the rapper’s former record label from selling his unreleased music.
Afeni Shakur is trying to secure an injunction in a federal bankruptcy court against Death Row Records who are trying to sell the songs which she claims are owned by the rappers estate.
According to Associated Press, the unreleased recordings should have been handed over to the Shakur estate in 1997 as part of an agreement with the record label.
The federal court is expected to consider Afeni Shakur’s claim within the next month, when they’ll also decide whether Death Row Records can release an album of unreleased material to pay off their debts.
