Guyana-born, Brooklyn-bred hip-hop artist is the premiere music industry GHOST WRITER  (for example, he wrote P. Diddy’s verse for the Busta Rhymes’ track “Pass the Courvoisier”)

How did he get his name? People have called him Red his entire life. It was the name his street-hustling father went by. The “Cafe” would come later. “I hustled every kind of paraphernalia there is,” he says. “I never stick to one hustle to make a dollar. I continue to move strategically to make something out of nothing. So RED CAFE has always been where you could come to get anything you want.”

RED CAFEs love of hip-hop began when he spent 4 years in jail
RED CAFE is not new to this game – he has released hundreds of mix tapes over the years. His hard-hitting, chilling freestyles and remakes have been featured on the mix tapes of the hottest NY DJ’s —Whoo Kid, Envy, Craig G, S+S, Kool Kid, etc.

His vocals have graced numerous street hits with Juvenile, Foxy Brown, LL Cool J, and Amerie. Violator Management, Funkmaster Flex, and Erick Sermon have all featured Red on their albums. Has also worked with Trina, Faith, Fabolous, Tyrese, Akon, Paul Wall, The Clipse, 8Ball & MJG, Mack10, FAT JOe and more
Has appeared on soundtrack s “You Got Served” and “Coach Carter”

SHAKEDOWN producers include Trackmasters, ReEfa, Megahertz, Bink, Kutus In, etc
Entrepreneur RED CAFE is President and Co-Owner of SHAKEDOWN, a team of producers and DJs
Why SHAKEDOWN? Red says, “When you locked up, every few weeks a shakedown happens. I named the album SHAKEDOWN, because whatever they don’t want to give me, I’m gonna take.”

What makes RED CAFE different? RED CAFE has been a hustler since he was a kid. He says, “I talk about what I live. My records are part of my biography.”
