Starting in the mid 80’s as a New York DJ at WBLS with Marley Mal then into the early 90’s producing, Pete Rock, sets his foundation for becoming a living legend in the Hip Hop community. Pete Rock joins with good friend C.L. Smooth in 1991 starting a three year legacy putting out work book material for newcomers to the game.. They started with “All souled out” (1991) then off to “Mecca & SoulBrother” (1992), “Main Ingredients” (1994), these three albums became a major force in the Hip Hop community.. “Mecca & SoulBrother” is a classic LP which should serve as a model for every Hip Hop producer in the game. In 1994 Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth shocked the industry by separating and going their own ways. Pete Rock signs with Loud Records as a solo MC In 1998 releasing SoulSurvivor.
Pete Rock just released his latest album Soul Survivor II and Sixshot.com had a chance to holla at him while he was on tour with Truth Hurts and Mr. Cheeks.

Pete Rock: I mean just the music Industry changed, you know the type of music that is heard on the radio today is different from what we are used to hear.
Sixshot.com: Do you think all the money in hip-hop is good or bad for the creativity of the music, what’s your opinion?
Pete Rock: It’s basically what it is, were just dealing with it, we are trying to blend in where we fit in and just ride.

Pete Rock: Yeah, I’m actually just finishing up the tour with Mr. Cheeks and Truth Hurts… We’ve been on tour for like the whole month of August.
Sixshot.com: What do you think about politics today? Pete Rock: It's just we fight for the country, its ill with a lot of things, terrorism and all that is going on, you know people need to realize like umm.. Really I don’t even know who I would want to be president. I don’t have a president that I want as president unless he is a black president.
