"F**k whatcha heard who's the best in New York"

"One More Chance",Ready To Die.

March 9 marks seven years since Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace was murdered, robbing the world of one of music's great artists and changing the rap game forever.

Not only did he intimidate MC's with his size but his flow, wit, delivery and attention commanding voice.

As i write this piece.."Kick In The Door" blasts loudly from my speakers and i can confidently say he is one of the greatest MC's  Hip Hop music has ever spawned. His legacy stays alive through other rappers like Lil Kim,Fat Joe and Jay-Z constantly quoting him or R&B singers like Ashanti  trying to shine on tracks he once ripped apart.

We sorely miss his timeless contribution to Hip Hop because it wasn't only accepted by Brooklynites or the thugs...his music was universally embraced. He was able to appeal to wider audience  with "Hypnotize" or "Big Poppa" and still keep his street credibilty in check with grim ,gutter tracks like "10 Commandments" or "What's Beef".His approach and formula can be seen through artists like 50 Cent,Eminem and Jay-Z.His  lyrics, albums and  image are blueprints for rappers today...R.I.P....The First True King Of New York..to me that is!

Big was nice
Biggie gave way for rappers like Jay-Z, Mase and Camron, Lil Kim and others. He was a cool MC with an incredible flow. My favorite Biggie Song will always be "Mo Money Mo Problems" cause it's simply the truth.
