Many would expect the founder of hip hop to be judgemental of some of the genre's current biggest stars but many would be surprised to know who Afrika Bambatta is feeling.

"I like Akon, I like some of Lil Wayne when he uses that funky voice," Bambaataa tells Forbes. "Anything progressive."

Bambaataa, was instrumental in the early development of hip hop throughout the 1980s. He was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
