Jonny Boy Speaks: Lil Wayne's Carter 4 & The Eminem Leak printer friendly version Send this story to a friend!

What’s up people? It’s ya man Jonny Boy back again in this holiday edition of Jonny Boy Speaks. Actually it’s only the holiday edition because well, it’s the holidays, moving on. I do want to wish everybody a very, very happy holiday. I hope everybody takes this time to sit back, spend some time with their families and friends, and appreciate life. In the words of my man Mitch, life is good. Wow, I need to stop watching Paid in Full.

Let’s get to the goods now. I’m sure all of you heard that Dre and Eminem reference track that got leaked. Eminem stans had an orgasm I’m sure but relax guys a reference track is only there so Dre knows how to recite his verses. I will admit it was cool to hear Eminem rapping about 6-4’s and shit. That’s like hearing Lil Wayne rapping about being sober.

Speaking of Lil Wayne, we all know that Wayne stays in the studio constantly. Well the word on the street is that he’s recording some serious fire for the Carter 4. No I have no idea when it’ll be released but I’m looking forward to it. I actually have a few questions about Lil Wayne for you guys. Did you like the Carter 2 or 3 better? Honestly I think I liked 2 better. 'Hustler Muzik' alone made that album a bang in’ listen I think. Don’t get me wrong 3 was good but 2 had more depth I think.

Another question I have is, did you guys like “Lollipop” or “A Milli” better. I never understood what all the hype was with “A Milli”. I found that song to be extremely overrated. “Lollipop” on the other hand was fuckin’ phenomenal. “Mrs. Officer”, what the hell was that? I was not feeling that song in the least.

Onto more Wayne rumors. The rumor is that the collaboration album “I Can’t Feel My Face” with Juelz Santana is still on and frankly that’s something I’m really looking forward to. Juelz is crazy, he can rap for real. Love his style or hate it but you have to admit the man knows what he’s doing. When that album drops, Juelz is gonna go to a different level in the game.

I have something else I need to speak on. DJ Khaled puts together some hot songs that I fuckin’ love. The “I’m So Hood” remix and “We Takin’ Over” are guaranteed to send ya boy into baller mode when they come on in the club but man Khaled is so annoying on these records I can’t take it. That 'We The Best' shit is killing me. How many times is he gonna ask us who the best is? Clue wasn’t that annoying on The Professional and Flex and Kap weren’t that annoying on The Tunnel which are the two best DJ albums ever so why does Khaled have to do it? Stop speaking and let Wayne, Luda, Big Boi, etc. do their thing man.

Speaking of Khaled, it seems he’s a big dog up at Def Jam right now. It’s a little surprising considered how hard Ace Hood flopped but he does make hit records on a constant basis. I felt they put that record out way to soon. Ace Hood had a little buzz poppin’ but he was nowhere near ready for a release date. I think he could have done 100k in the first week if they would have played it right. I also want to take this opportunity to tell everybody to stop talkin’ that shit about Akon and T-Pain about how they’re on every record and whatnot. Both of them dudes make some good ass music so let it ride.

If ya’ll would have copped Akon’s latest album Freedom you would see that Akon just keeps getting better. It’s my favorite album this year so far. Every track is a banga and every track has the potential to be a single. Akon knows what he’s doing.

As far as T-Pain goes I don’t know what the hell he’s thinking with the elephants and top hats and shit as if he doesn’t draw enough attention without circus animals and odd clothing but he knows how to make a hit. Don’t front. You know you loved “Shawty”, “I’m in Love With a Stripper”, “I’m A Flirt” remix, and the list goes on. I thoroughly enjoy that guy’s music and I find him to be really fuckin’ entertaining. So enough hating on those two. Aight folks I think that’s all for this week. Like I said have a safe and happy holiday season. If you’re drinking stay off the road and if you’re not drinking then take one for the team and be the designated driver. I’m out ‘til I’m back.
