The nephew of R&B singer R. Kelly has reportedly been slapped with multiple charges for the attempted armed robbery of a Chicago barber shop earlier this month.

As reported earlier, 15-year-old Brayel Kelly was shot twice in the chest by the owner of a barbershop on November 7th while attempting to rob the shop.

According to The Northwest Indiana and Illinois Times, Brayel Kelly was charged as an adult today (November 21) with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Brayel remains hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Brayel's father is R. Kelly's younger brother, Carey Kelly.  Carey accused the singer of being in sex tapes that surfaced six years ago.

R.Kelly would face 14 counts of child pornography as a result of the sex tapes but was acquitted on all charges.
