There are millions of people who love Kanye West and probably even more that hate him. He’s changed the hip-hop game and some people disagree with the direction he’s brought it in. From black jeans and tims to Louis Vuitton scarves he’s definitely had an impact on the game.
The fact is however than Kanye is easily one of the best producers in the game, makes hot music, and has delivered quite a few mind boggling verses like on the “Get By (remix)” where he even outshined Jay-Z.
Let’s take a look back at Kanye’s career through his videos in this week's Listmania
10. “Stronger”
Stronger was a hot song thanks to the flipping of that Daft Punk single. The video featured Kanye is some kind of futuristic machine, a motorcycle chase, and Kanye’s white 1980’s shutter shades. I don’t quite get it but it definitely looked cool.
9.“Jesus Walk
s”
This video made sense from the marching to the flames and you can’t hate on Kanye for making a socially conscious song with the video to match. He said when it first came out that he brought Jesus to the club and hey I guess he did. You can’t be mad.
8. “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’”
Incredible song from Kanye’s verses to the Jeezy adlibs, just incredible. The video is bangin’ too because it’s minimal like the song. It’s stripped down and that’s basically the whole concept of the song. One of my personal favorites.
7. “Through The Wire”
This song was great and you have to love the video. Just seeing Kanye’s trip down memory lane with that beat in the background was real touching. The fact that his mouth was wired shut while he made this was all the more cool. Another personal favorite of mine and Kanye’s introduction to the world.
6. “All Falls Down”
Cool little concept and we don’t actually see Kanye except his reflection in a car window but who cares? We got to see a whole lot of Stacey Dash. I would chop off both legs and an arm for a date with Ms. Dash. Damn, she is beautiful.
5. “Touch The Sky”
The whole Evel Knievel theme was cool but man we had to give Kanye the lucky bastard of the year award for getting to make out with Pamela Anderson. I guess rap superstardom does have some definite perks. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think Kanye got mad because Pamela said they made out or some nonsense. Who could get mad at that?
4.“Love Lockdown”
The first video off of Kanye’s upcoming EP this thing is very cool. I don’t get it at all and it kind of creeps me out but that’s part of it’s coolness. The white clothing? I don’t get it. The telescope? I don’t get it. But oddly enough, I really like this video.
3. “Good Life”
Easily, hands down, bar none Kanye’s hottest video of all time this thing is off the hook. From the words coming out of his mouth to the graphics and the colors this video is a work of art. The song is incredible too and a true hip-hop anthem. Word to Kanye and T-Pain.
2. “Gold Digger”
Cool little video. Jamie Foxx was hot of his Oscar win so it was the best look to have him in there. I’m not the hugest fan but hey it served it’s purpose.
1. “Champion”
I picked this video because of it’s originality. I mean who in the hell would ever use puppets in a hip-hop video, an entire hip-hop video no less? You have to give Kanye credit for trying new things and stepping outside of the box.
