It’s Jonny Boy back in the building and I’m back at it again, yes I’m back at it again, you heard me. Let’s jump right into the madness. The first thing I wanted to discuss was the pictures floating around the net of Baby giving Lil Wayne a milli, a milli, a milli, a milli in cash in a Louis Vuitton briefcase on his twenty-sixth birthday. The word is that Lil Wayne was very choked up and I don’t blame his ass.

One time I got a 50 spot for Christmas and I got a little misty eyed. If I ever got a milli, a milli, a milli, a milli as a gift I would be downright crying, throwing myself on the floor like I was on fire. It must be nice to be a rap superstar sometimes. Moving on, I have to give Lil Wayne credit for really doing this rock star shit. Like this dude is really going into another realm with the shit he’s doing.

And don’t front because I know you’re all feeling Kevin Rudolph’s joint “Let It Rock” featuring Weezy. I know I am. There are a few projects coming up that I’m looking forward to. Juelz Santana’s album is something I’m definitely copping. I believe it comes out next year and I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be an all around banger.

Another release I’m gonna be copping is Fabolous’ Loso’s Way. And now since I spoke on Fabolous I’m gonna gi ve my opinion on Fab overall. Fab gets looked at as a dude who makes songs for the ladies but any real hip-hop head knows better than that. From Fab’s first album I knew he was a serious problem and that if he took a different approach on his next album that it was gonna be a wrap for a lot of other rappers and New York’s throne was gonna be in jeopardy.

When he dropped “Breathe” I’m gonna be honest, that joint was on some king of New York shit and very reminiscent of you know who. Unfortunately the rest of the album didn’t quite match up. Aight, let me stop beating around the bush. In my opinion Fab is to Jay-Z what Jay-Z was to Biggie and I always felt that Fab was a “Hard Knock Life” away from being the king of New York. Not that Fab has had a bad career. He steadily drops hits, has maintained platinum and gold status, and lyrically is a beast. I just always expected just a little bit more. Hate it or love it, that’s my opinion.

I also want to take the opportunity to give a movie recommendation. I urge ya’ll to watch Beef IV. I watched it last night and it was a real cool flick. I feel like it delved a little deeper than the previous three.  The highlights were the beef between the North and South sides of Houston back in the DJ Screw (rest in peace) days and also the break-up of the Rocafella Empire. The details are still hazy but it does shed some light on the situation.

Surprise, surprise but I have an opinion on this too. Business is business and if one party feels uncomfortable or they could leave for greener pastures then they should do so but the fact is that there is a thing called business ethics. Those ethics mean that even though it’s all about the dough you should at least operate in an ethical way. That means no matter how obnoxious one party was that person at least deserves a reason especially if you were once close enough to them to consider them a “friend”.

Take that as a lesson for all my readers out there. No matter what you do make sure you always do it in an ethical way. There’s a right way to do everything so be a stand up guy. I went off a little bit there but back to Beef IV. It also features a segment on the late, great Big Proof and man I don’t think I’ve ever seen one dude get so much respect across the board. Proof was Detroit and Detroit loved him. He was the mayor. Anything that was going on in terms of hip-hop Proof was involved in.

Everybody from Trick Trick to Royce has nothing but the best things to say about him and you can see the emotion in everybody when they talk about him. Losing Proof was a huge loss for hip-hop music. I’m sure he would love to see the big moves the D is making right now. I’m gonna end this with a big Rest In Peace to Proof. That’s it for this week folks. It’s your man Jonny Boy signing off.
