Louisiana rapper Hurricane Chris recently revealed he is back in the studio working on his currently untitled sophomore album.

“I got some of my real big dawgs getting ready to jump on this album- it’s gonna be fire!,Hurricane Chris said via a statement.  “I’m not gonna tell y’all who I’m working with right now- you have to stay tuned!”

Hurricane recently shot his second FILA commercial with label mate Boxie and rapper Diamond

The rapper's latest  solo FILA campaign will start this fall for the back to school line of Helmsman's sneakers.

 

HEATING UP

Producer Ron Browz  recently revealed to GW Hatchet that Missy will be appearing on the remix of his blazing track "Pop Champagne" which features Jim Jones [Listen to "Pop Champagne"]

“I want to keep it a surprise, so I'm just going to let you guys know Missy and I have somebody else - another big artist - that I'm going to have on it,” Browz said.

Browz plans on releasing his debut album titled Etherboy when he lands a label deal. R&B singer Mya will be appearing on the project.

The beatmaker also divulged  he has produced three tracks on Jim Jones' forthcoming album which hits stores in December.

Browz  produced Nas' "Ether" and has also crafted beats for 50 Cent and Ludacris.

 

ON MY OWN

R&B singer Syleena Johnson will be releasing  her fourth album titled Chapter 4: Labor Pains on January 13, 2009.

Johnson, who had been signed to Jive Records for nine years, will be releasing the project via her own label called Aneelys Records.

“My career has been led by others for more than 10 years.  With all of my experience and knowledge, I cannot think of a better person to lead the next phase of my career,” Johnson said via a statement.  “ I am really looking forward to this challenge and having my own label gives me the flexibility in controlling the album's release date to make sure it is truly ready.  Once I have everything together on my own project, I will look to sign other acts in the future.  At the end of the day, I am truly blessed to be in this position.”
