It’s refreshing to finally listen to a diverse album like Free At Last.  The most underrated emcee in the game is back at it after four years since his debut Philadelphia Freeway.  The highly energetic flow is throughout the album with “When They Remember” and “It’s Over.”

Far from a classic, Free At Last is among a few outstanding yet underrated albums of the year (Cassidy’s B.A.R.S. is very underrated). Freeway shows raw emotion throughout the album with “I Cry” as he almost breaks down to cry as he names everyone in his life that has passed away.

El Presidente Jay-Z is featured on the album as well and gives nothing but quotable sixteens on “Roc-A-Fella Billionaires” yet he is the only one on the track to live up to the title.  The soulful yet therapeutic song “This Can’t Be Real” featuring Marsha Ambrosius (formerly of Floetry) is one of the best tracks on Free At LastFree reminisces of getting signed to the Roc and how his grind never ceased.  Do not count out Freeway as one of the best artists on Roc-A-Fella he embodies the ambition of a hungry emcee on a rise.

Freeway falls short on one song with an unlikely feature by 50 Cent on “Take It To The Top” as the South-Side Jamaica Queens rapper sings giving a 21-Questions-eque hook to the track.

“Reppin’ the Streets” is a laid back ode to the hood that shaped him into what he is now from having no name brand clothes to long white tees and selling drugs.  The flow-tasic “Baby Don’t Do It” features Houston’s own Scarface that adds his own swag that he’s famous in doing.

Aspiring rappers need to take notes on Freeway’s flow and energy.  The bearded emcee doesn’t disappoint with Free At Last and illustrates the grind and lyricism rappers need to have for longevity in this unstable industry.

Freeway brings nothing but fire and flow with “Walk With Me” that features the best rappers to link up with FreeBusta Rhymes and Jadakiss both bring the truth to your eardrums on “Walk With Me”.

Go cop Free At Last, the 14-track album proves that Hip-Hop is alive and well.  If you want flow, energy and truthful lyrics then Freeway delivers that to your eardrums.  The four-year hiatus has seasoned Freeway as an ever-developing emcee.
