This past summer, eighteen-year-old Louisiana rapper Hurricane Chris had everyone hand-clapping and 2-Stepping to "A Bay Bay".
The ringtone era is in full effect as Hurricane Chris fans everywhere cell phones rang with the catchy "A Bay Bay" chorus playing continuously.
With this album, Chris debuts the Shreveport alternative of crunk music with the key ingredients that make rachet music, infectious synths, a few drum kicks and memorable hooks which gets boring after awhile.
If you were satisfied with "A Bay Bay" and "Hand Clap" then you won’t be disappointed at all. The personal songs like "Momma" and "Gettin Money" brought some depth to the album.
The s
pontaneous references of Rick James and repetitive hooks are filled throughout 51/50 Rachet. Chris needs more experience to obtain more creative ideas in order to create diverse songs.
"Playas Rock" which samples Earth Wind & Fire’s "Do You Mind" will be a fan favorite as he displays his player ways while using protection when having sex.
Hurricane Chris definitely brings joints you can’t 2-Step to in the clubs or rock to in the streets.
