Ok Freeky Zekey you may or may not know of him so heres a little back ground information on him. Before I break down his first album. Freekey Zekey born Ezekiel Giles in 1975. He is the president of Diplomatic Records, He was shot in april of 2003, He has also spent almost three years in jail on drugs charges. He has signed a multi-million one-album deal with Asylum Records.
The album features production from Dramasetters, J.A, DA, Freebass, Spectacular, C Dub, Flava Beats, Ash, Tito Green, The Firemen. The featured artists are the usual suspects for a Diplomat album Hell Rell, J.R. Writer, Julez Santana, Jim Jones, Ash, Zen, Tobb & Sen. Although Lil wayne was rumoured to feature on the album the track hasn’t been added to the album, for reason I am un aware of.
There have been two released singles of the album thus far, Those being “Hater What You Looking At” and most recent “Like This” which is the featured video in this review. From my experience of diplomatic albums they all of a certain vibe and style of beat to them, this album doesn’t its not on the Diplomatic wave length. But that aside considering this is Freeky Zekey’s first album he has not gone at it half hearted that’s for sure, his slick lyrics and ni
ce delivery on the album makes him sound like this is his 5th album.
So lets talk tracks that stood out for me. “Bottom Bitch”, “730 Dip Dip” & “Streets” These where the tracks that stood out for me on the album. “Bottom Bitch” has a catchy hook and beat has some nice lyrics on it and it’s a good track. “730 Dip Dip” is your typical dipset rep it’s a good track none the less nice beat good lyrics. “Streets” this is a track you need to have on a album a track about where ya from and the struggle you been threw this track has that, and has been carried out very well.
Overall rating: 7/10
