So its finally here arguably the most anticipated album of 2007 T.I. V’s T.I.P. Looking at the track list you can see the work and time that has gone into this album. With guest appearances such as Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Eminem, Nelly, and Wyclef Jean. T.I. Has made a solid line up to his album. T.I. mentioned working with André 3000, Justin Timberlake, Ciara, Akon, and R. Kelly but these didn’t make the final cut. It was reported T.I. Made 60 something tracks for this album but had to narrow it down to what we have here.
The idea behind this album is T.I verse’s his alter ego T.I.P im sure you all have read what these egos stand for and represent within himself. Speaking of which I think we have just seen the T.I.P. side of the solo artist after he hit out at Ludacris’s manager. But that aside this album ceases to overshadow what ever T.I has and will do. With production on this album by Clifford "T.I." Harris (Exec.), Jason Geter (Exec.), Grand Hustle, Eminem, Mannie Fresh, Danja, The Runners, Just Blaze, Wyclef Jean, Kannon "Caviar" Cross, Jeff Bass, and Kenny C. Allen not only does it have some big names featured on it but it also has big names producing it. Following his
success’s from King T.I has gone onto be a real influence in Southern and main stream music.
Now lets talk about some of the tracks that I feel stand out on this album “Watch What You Say To Me”, “Hurt”, “My Swag”, “Touchdown”, “Act III” and “My Type”. All these track stood out to me on this album although the whole album was outstanding.
“Watch What You Say To Me” This track was featuring Jay Z, T.I had a real nice verse I was feeling this was the T.I.P side to T.I. And Jay Z Came threw very nice with his verse. “Hurt” this track was featuring Busta Rhymes and Alfamega. Busta Rhymes tore this track up T.I also drop some bombs on this track one of my favourites on the album. “My Swag” Featuring Wyclef Jean this is a very layed back track, The T.I. Side came out on this track with some real nice production by Wyclef, also a very catchy hook this may be a #1 hit if released. “Touchdown” Featuring and produced by Eminem this is not a track you would expect to hear Eminem on and one of the most unlikely match ups to hear. But with that said T.I sets it of and they both combine to do the hook. Eminem’s verse was something totally new adding to the diversity of his persona as a emcee. This track is not to be missed. “Act III” Out of all these skits on the album this one has to be the funneyst, where T.I. faces off with T.I.P. The skit makes for fun listening. “My Type” The last track of the album adds its own little touch to finish the album of really nice.
The album is everything it has been hyped up to be and more, This album is sure to be #1 on the billboards. I picked a few tracks out but honestly the whole album is worth listening too. It was hard to just pick a few tracks out for the hot ones, as they are all hot tracks.
My rating 9.5/10
