Ok MIMS the NY rapper has come out big with his single “This Is Why I’m Hot” already one of the biggest songs this year. To this he has made his album “Music Is My Saviour” which I’m going to get into. I’m going to give you a brief track by track breakdown of his album. Then you can decide on weather to purchase or download it.

Lets start this of then…

The 1st track - Its Aight - MIMS has a certain air of he can spit on anything to me. This track has a nice beat good lyrics and a nice chorus. It’s a nice opener to a album. 8/10

The 2nd track - This Is Why Im Hot - Now this track is real catchy. The chorus is one of those that gets stuck in your head straight away. Although he’s from NY MIMS has embraced the southern feel to this track and has come out trumps on it. Real nice track. 9/10

The 3rd track - Girlfriends Fav MC - Again a totally different beat but MIMS holds his own on this J.Holiday sings a nice chorus on this, with MIMS adding the adlibs. The combination of both artists Has come together nicely to make another nice track. 8/10

The 4th track - Where I Belong - Straight away the beat is nice and MIMS comes in with some real nice lyrics. The Chorus has some nice meaning to this, this is a real nice production of music. 9/10

The 5th track - Cop It - Some clever lyrics with a nice beat and again a catchy chorus. MIMS seems to know what the listener is looking for. This track is a solid one. 8/10

The 6th track - Big Black Train - Funny name for a track but a good metaphor for what he raps about. Beat is different on this as most of his tracks are his flow is consistent, and the lyrics are nice. Again another track with a twist of style. 8/10

The 7th Track - They Don’t Wanna Play - Now this track is real nice he seems to be taking shots at a few people. The beat is interchangeable on this with different genre’s and types of rap beats playing according to the rap style MIMS does. Bun B and Seed also come nice on this. This was one of my favourite tracks on the album. 10/10

The 8th track - Like This - Has the potential to becoming a big club song. The chorus is simple but very catchy. Again another that has a southern feel to it. The beat and lyrics just make you want to get up on the dance floor. 9/10

The 9th track - Just Like That - Beat is real catchy on this I’m sure most will like this. MIMS seems to have a knack to making real nice chorus well catchy ones you might call it. This is no different from the rest a catchy good song with nice lyrics laced onto the beat. 8/10

The 10th track - Without You - I think this is really aimed at some girl that did MIMS wrong maybe.  With Latoya Luckett on the chorus this comes together to make a real nice and deep track. Showing that MIMS does have a sensitive side. 8/10

The 11th track - Superman - Again with a southern feel on the beat. The title superman comes into play in the chorus. I like the use of his titles how they relate to his raps and tracks this is a again a nice track. In saying that though I don’t like rappers who brag to much. 8/10

The 12th track - This Is Why I’m Hot (Remix) - To be honest I think I like the remix more there are a few circulating the net at the moment. But the one that is featured on this album features two will known Jamaican artists. Me I prefer the remix. 10/10

The 13th track - Doctor Doctor - Shows a gratefulness about MIMS he can see how things are going and acknowledges them. This track is again nice chorus is more of a skit but still nice. 8/10

The 14th Track - Don’t Cry - Damn that’s what comes to mind listening to this I didn’t think another track on this album would top the “This Is Why I’m Hot Remix” but I was mistaken. This track is a real nice lyrical track with some meaningful words within it MIMS flow carrys this to a new level which makes it even more of a classic track. All in all real nice way to finish the album off. 10/10

The bonus track - I Did You Wrong - Real catchy beat nice lyrics again aimed at a girl I feel, maybe the same one as he has referred to throughout the tracks. 8/10

My overall opinion on this album is one you need to have. I must say I hadn’t heard of MIMS until “This Is Why I’m Hot” and I’m glad I’ve had the chance to review this album. Im not being bias or anything like that but this album is really good one of the best I’ve heard in awhile. Id recommend this album to anyone. A very high 9 out of 10.
