David Banner, the man who put Mississippi on the map, returns for a second time with the remixed version of his successful debut entitled Mississippi: The Chopped & Screwed Album.
The renowned Houston producer Dj Michael Watts of the Swisha House crew handles the task of delivering the chopped and screwed version of the album. Dj Michael Watts is proclaimed as the new Chopped and Screwed King. Screwed is a term that describes a style derived from the legendary Houston native Dj Screw where the tempo of the record is slowed down. Chopped refers to the lyrics and the beats being chopped up and reassembled.
Mississippi: The Chopped & Screwed Album is the first chopped & screwed release to be distributed by a major record label, SRC/Universal Records. The new LP is a definite buy for those who are fans of the genre. For those who are not into the style or who really don’t know it should at least sample the sound [a cup of that purple syrup might help]. Compared to the original album it is a dramatic difference in sound. As for the album content there are a couple of new tracks, Fire Falling and Michael Watts Interlude.
Regarding the release of the remixed album Banner states, “I got Michael Watts for the chopped and screwed album because I am a fan of his work.
