The man who prides himself by complimenting himself every chance he gets is back with his third album in three years. DJ Khaled has been one of the cornerstones for the Miami Hip-Hop scene by having the ability the corral all types of artists and put them together for his projects, and We Global is no exception to that philosophy. Even though the majority of artists are from his region, he still manages to score big by having Nas, The Game, and Dancehall superstar Sean Paul contribute to the album.

Ace Hood (which happens to be his artist) starts off the block party filled with colossal posse cuts with 'Standing On The Mountain Top' along with Pooh Bear. The only song on the album produced by DJ Khaled, he does a solid job at supplying the first artist he signed to Def Jam with a concrete introductory track in order to open the project up. ‘Go Hard’ is more of a battle between Kayne West and T-Pain to see who can use the synthesizer talk box better. Nonetheless, the Chi-town native fresh off his camera smashing fiasco at LAX Airport in Los Angeles decides to take more shots at President Bush before his official departure from office, “Here’s one thing I got to hear/I’m a tell you like George Bush told me/f*ck y’all n*ggas, I’m outta here.”

Flo Rida, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Lloyd, and Rick Ross all join in on ‘Go Ahead.’ Produced by The Runners, all rappers get a chance to have their voices heard in this boy meets girl story with Lloyd singing his little heart out on the chorus. One of two solo songs on the album belongs to Nas, and he establishes why he stands alone on ‘I’m On.’ With Cool from Cool & Dre doing his best Pharrell Williams impression hook-wise, the king of queens lashes out with lines like, “Hit the stage like a meteorite, they all wanna hear Either tonight/but we ain’t beefin’ tonight/that’s history, so now when you mention me/say I’m a mystery.”

The other artist who has the advantage of doing a whole song by his lone some is The Game, and he comes in on ‘Red Light.’ The Inkredibles recycle the ‘Trace Your Love’ sample by Joe Simon that 9th Wonder used to create ‘Alright’ on Memphis Bleek’s 534 and album and tailor it to The Game’s standards in order for him to go on his usual name-dropping rants, “I could go Hammer, but I’m not broke/picture me gettin’ a million dollars for every line I wrote/I’m dope, when Jay gonna do a song with me/I ain’t dope, I mean what the f*ck is wrong with me.”

DJ Khaled recruits three of the biggest club song veterans in Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, and Sean Paul for ‘She’s Fine.’ Produced by Timbaland’s protégé Danja Handz, all the ingredients come together for a song that should make you waste more of your rent money at the bar. ‘Final Warning’ features a who’s who of Southern MC’s with Bun B, Blood Raw, Brisco, Ace Hood, Shawty Lo, R. City, Lil Scrappy, and Bali all taking part in the festivities and bringing their unique styles to the table.

Miami’s elder statesman Trick Daddy comes in on ‘F*** The Other Side’ which also features the Drunk Ryders, but he takes a small part letting the Drunk Ryders bask in the majority of the spotlight. DJ Khaled completes his latest compilation by adding other stars like Pitbull, Birdman and Baby Cham on songs like ‘Blood Money,’ ‘Bullet,’ and ‘Defend Dade.’

When it comes to We Global, the boisterous DJ does a good job at creating larger than life anthems just as he did on is previous efforts. The name of the album is a fitting one as he does expand the sound a little further this time around by making the project more diverse, but not straying too far away from the Miami sound.
