It’s very rear that an artist comes along possessing the attributes which will take them into the spotlight in the entertainment industry. In the genre of Rap & Hip-Hop music it’s become somewhat unfounded, but this young Atlanta native, has sown a seed that’s about to sprout into the path of success with the likes of: Ludacris, Busta-Rhymes and (Not comparing him) Nelly. Nevertheless, one intro, fourteen songs and one outro later, Archie Eversole, delivers more than enough music and lyrics to justify the purchase of the Ride Wit Me; Dirty South Style, his debuting CD.
From the onset, including the intro (…lol…I thought it was a song and kind of fell into it) We Ready, Rollin’ Hard, Ride Wit Me and We Ready (remix) featuring Bubba Sparxxx will get you bouncing to appreciate young Mr. Eversole as an artist. The fore mentioned songs deliver a lot of energy, congruency, confident rhymes and very good call and respond hooks. With a veteran like quality, he creates some of the typical, female records, with regional slang you have to follow; Chicken Wing, Throw a Bottle and Chop Em Down.
Ride Wit Me, is a strong production musically, with Larry Blackmon featured on the titled song Ride Wit Me, (you know what the next single’s going to be..). Unexpectedly Archie, spits out an introspective song in Why Me and Everything Is Alright, which takes the harsh edge off his CD and brings a greater dimension to his southern party, club format. Well thought out songs, just short of brilliant production and enough none reg
ional songs to make this a winner. Along with Archie’s raspy ( sometimes reminiscent of Ludacris with a hint of Mystikal) voice, and mature delivery assists in just attaining a three out of five rating. In a press release he had this to say, “People do not understand where I am coming from, that’s why I am not going to rush this album, because I owe it to the ni--az that bought the first one." Young and strong he has ample time to bring more to the table in the future, as Eversole embarks on his completion of the sophomore album.
